Press Releases Spring 2009 / Shook Kelley Scholarship Recipient Announced
Mr. Brandon Johnson has been announced as the fifth recipient of the "Shook Kelley Design Scholarship" for the 2008-09 Academic Year. Mr. Johnson is a fifth year, graduating architecture student in the School of Architecture at UNC-Charlotte. A highly entrepreneurial scholar, Mr. Johnson created structural teaching aids and redesigned seminar books for Professor David Thaddeus and is working towards starting his own freelancing business while at school. The announcement was made in Shook Kelley's behalf by Mr. Ken Lambla, AIA, Dean of the College of Architecture at UNC-Charlotte.
Shook Kelley established the "Shook Kelley Scholarship Award" in 2002 as an Award of Excellence. The scholarship is awarded each year to a chosen student upon completion of their fourth year of study in the College of Architecture. A primary goal of the Shook Kelley Scholarship Award is to give students additional incentive to complete their graduate studies in architecture prior to beginning their professional careers.
